Is DeepSeek Down? Live DeepSeek Status

Independent monitoring · Official incident data

Check whether DeepSeek is down right now. This page combines DeepSeek's official status information with independent reachability checks for Web Chat and the API gateway.

Official status temporarily unavailable

DeepSeek endpoints are reachable, but the official status could not be verified.

Do not treat a source-format or monitoring failure as proof that DeepSeek is down.

Three separate signals

Live DeepSeek Status by Service

DeepSeek's official status is the primary source for declared incidents; independent reachability checks are displayed separately.

Current state comes from DeepSeek's status service. Independent checks do not override an official incident.

DeepSeek Web Chat

Independent reachability check

Reachable (access protected)

HTTP response
403
Response time
19 ms

The web edge answered. This does not test login or message generation.

DeepSeek API gateway

Independent reachability check

API gateway reachable

HTTP response
401
Response time
318 ms

HTTP 401 is expected without an API key and confirms that the API gateway answered.

Official component data

DeepSeek Service Status by Component

DeepSeek publishes separate status information for its API and Chat services. Official uptime covers up to the last 90 days; newer components have a shorter available window.

First-party measurements

DeepSeek Reachability History

Our monitor records one server-side Web Chat and API gateway reachability check approximately every five minutes. Data starts when this plugin is activated.

Web Chat reachability

  • 24 hours100.00%295 valid checks
  • 7 days100.00%2790 valid checks
  • 30 days100.00%5761 valid checks
  • 90 days100.00%5761 valid checks

API gateway reachability

  • 24 hours100.00%295 valid checks
  • 7 days100.00%2790 valid checks
  • 30 days100.00%5761 valid checks
  • 90 days100.00%5761 valid checks

These percentages measure endpoint reachability from the Chat-Deep.ai server after this monitor was activated. They are not DeepSeek's SLA and do not prove that every account, request, model or region worked.

Is DeepSeek Down Right Now?

DeepSeek endpoints are reachable, but the official status could not be verified. Do not treat a source-format or monitoring failure as proof that DeepSeek is down.

A green result does not guarantee that every DeepSeek feature works for every user. Account problems, regional routing, browser extensions, local DNS, an expired API key, insufficient API balance, or request-level rate limits can affect you while the global service remains operational.

Down for everyone or just you?

How to Tell a DeepSeek Outage from a Local Issue

Use the symptom and the first diagnostic response to separate a service outage from a local, account or request problem.

SymptomMore likely explanationFirst check
“Server is busy” or very slow repliesCapacity pressure or intermittent degradationRefresh this page, wait briefly, then try a shorter new conversation.
Login loop or blank chatCookies, browser extensions, account session or regional routeTry a private window and the same official sign-in method.
API HTTP 401Missing or invalid API keyCheck the Authorization header and key source.
API HTTP 402Insufficient API balanceCheck billing and balance in the official platform.
API HTTP 429Concurrency or request-rate pressureReduce parallel requests and retry with backoff.
API HTTP 500 or 503Potential server error or overloadCheck the API component and retry safely.

Transparent, reproducible checks

How Our DeepSeek Status Checker Works

Methodology last reviewed August 3, 2026.

1

Official status

The checker reads DeepSeek's current official status data server-side, including active changes, published components, component uptime and incident history. Official-source responses are cached for up to five minutes to avoid unnecessary load and rate limiting.

2

Web reachability

Our server requests the official Web Chat endpoint. A response confirms edge reachability only; it does not test your login, chat history or successful generation.

3

API reachability

Our server requests the official models route without a key. An expected HTTP 401 proves that the API gateway answered, but it does not test authenticated model inference.

4

Conservative verdict

Independent failures never override an official incident state. Timeouts, bot protection and source-format failures produce “unable to verify” or “possible access issue,” not a false global outage claim.

Limitations

  • Checks run from one server location and cannot prove availability in every country, ISP or corporate network.
  • The unauthenticated probes do not test account login, billing, file uploads or a complete model response.
  • DeepSeek's current status endpoints are used by its official status page but are not presented as a permanently versioned public API. If their format changes, this page shows an unknown state instead of guessing.
  • No visitor IP address, browser fingerprint, DeepSeek credential or API key is collected by this checker.

Frequently asked questions

DeepSeek Status FAQ

Is DeepSeek down right now?

Use the live result at the top of this page. It compares DeepSeek's official incident state with separate Web Chat and API gateway reachability checks. Always use the displayed last-check time because availability can change quickly.

Is DeepSeek down for everyone or just me?

If DeepSeek fails across multiple devices and networks while an official incident or multiple independent failures are shown above, a wider outage is likely. If it works in another browser, device or network, the problem is probably local or account-specific.

What is the official DeepSeek status page?

DeepSeek publishes official service information at status.deepseek.com, including API, Chat, model-mode, search, vision, upload, maintenance, uptime and incident details.

Why does DeepSeek say “server busy” when the status is operational?

A server-busy message can be intermittent, regional, account-specific or limited to certain requests. Wait briefly, try a new conversation and compare another device or network before concluding that DeepSeek is down for everyone.

Is the DeepSeek API down?

Review the API components and the independent API gateway check above. HTTP 401, 402 or 429 normally points to authentication, balance or concurrency rather than a global outage. Repeated 500 or 503 responses are more consistent with a service-side problem.

Can DeepSeek be unavailable in only one country or region?

Yes. Routing failures, ISP problems, local restrictions or regional infrastructure can affect some users while global monitoring remains operational. A regional failure should not be described as a worldwide outage without supporting evidence.

How often is this DeepSeek status page updated?

The public status snapshot is refreshed approximately every two minutes, official-source responses are cached for up to five minutes, and scheduled independent history checks run approximately every five minutes. The visible “Last checked” timestamp is the authoritative freshness indicator.

Is Chat-Deep.ai the official DeepSeek status service?

No. Chat-Deep.ai is an independent resource and is not affiliated with or operated by DeepSeek. Official information and independent measurements are labeled separately.

For a dated view beyond the current status snapshot, see the independent DeepSeek availability and API performance report, including multi-region measurements, original charts, and downloadable observations.
